Nick Perls - Signed Letter of Correspondence

It looks like my man Bill was trying to trade some records by white artists for records by black blues artists.  Is it me or does Nick's reply seem kind of hostile?

Nick Perls was the founder and main man behind the famed Yazoo record label.  If you love country blues, you probably have a Yazoo LP or CD in your collection.  Before they were bought out by Shanachie, most of the 78s Yazoo reissued came from the collections of Nick Perls and his friends and associates.

  2. Actually this correspondence reveals a fair bit about Perls. He was always direct and to the point, thrifty (despite being wealthy)and worked as efficiently as possible. Hence "recycling" the original note rather than writing (or typewriting) a reply on letterhead.
